In need of some #jewelryinspo? Here’s a closer look at a few of my favorite staples, essential for completing any outfit. (Spoiler alert: I have an unhealthy obsession with all things gold.)
miscellaneous madewell //
If it wasn’t obvious enough, I’ve clearly got a thing for Madewell. I practically live in their denim, and you’d be hard-pressed to find me without at least one well-made piece around my neck or studding my earlobes. I love that the golds aren’t too gaudy, the silvers have that perfect rusty matte finish, and the designs are minimal, simple, impactful. When it comes to Madewell, less is more.
Must-have pick: the elevated military dog tag.
forever 21 + urban outfitters //
I’ve always been into delicate bracelets, necklaces, and rings (re below: the top row is from Forever 21, the silver gems are from Korea), but it was only until recently that I fell in love with ‘hoop’ earrings—-of the dainty, gold variety and in sundry shapes and silhouettes, of course.
The dangling set above is from Forever 21, and has surprisingly endured through the countless times that I carelessly tossed them into the depths of my bag. Below, these delicate numbers are from Urban, each at twenty-bucks a pop. They make any casual, thrown-on-last-minute look seem intentional and put-together.
Must-have pick: the barely-there classic round hoops.
shop nepheliad //
I came across the brand Nepheliad through one of my favorite YouTubers, Jenn Rogers (who recommends this brand because it’s safe for sensitive skin/ears). Based in Canada, the shop is owned by a woman named Scarlet; she took the time to leave a personal, handwritten thanks in my package, which I absolutely appreciated. At first browse of her online store, I fell hard for each and every minimal piece of jewelry, and it took a lot of self-control to resist buying five items at once. Some pieces are a bit pricey, but the quality speaks for itself. The cherry on top: my earlobes usually become very irritated and itchy when I wear cheaper jewelry, but I had zero issues with this Nepheliad number.
michael kors //
At one point in my life, I was inseparable with this watch + bracelet duo from Michael Kors. The gold bracelet complements any look, and the watch is just so simple, beautiful, and neutral enough to wear on an everyday basis.
leonard & church //
Unfortunately, the MK watch has seen better days and is currently in need of some TLC in the mechanics department. It hasn’t seen much wear these days. I’ve been itching for a new watch, though, and when I came across this mesh-band style from Leonard & Church (it’s called Mercer Gold), I had to have it. Uncharacteristic of me, I waited almost a month before purchasing, to be sure that it wasn’t just an impulse desire. (It wasn’t.) When I finally handed over the hefty sum, which wasn’t too bad for a quality watch, I was not disappointed—-the quality, build, and overall finish feels luxurious and seriously well-crafted. I’d definitely recommend Leonard & Church for your next watch splurge.
I hope these staple pieces inspired you to treat-yo-self (or your loved ones, too, I guess) and I’ll meet you in the next post.
